It depends on what your dog weighs and how active they are. A 10kg dog eats around 150g a day if they're fairly relaxed, closer to 177g if they're out running about.

Daily amounts by weight

Dog weight

Lower activity

Higher activity

2kg

45g, about 1/2 cup

52g, about 3/5 cup

3kg

61g, about 5/7 cup

72g, about 5/6 cup

5kg

89g, about 1 cup

105g, about 1 1/5 cups

7.5kg

122g

143g, about 1 5/8 cups

10kg

150g, about 1 3/4 cups

177g, about 2 cups

15kg

204g, about 2 1/3 cups

240g, about 2 3/4 cups

20kg

254g, about 2 7/8 cups

298g, about 3 1/3 cups

25kg

299g, about 3 2/5 cups

352g, about 4 cups

30kg

343g, about 3 8/9 cups

404g, about 4 4/7 cups

A cup here means a standard 237ml household measuring cup, which holds 88g of our kibble. Weighing is more accurate than scooping if you need to track input more closely.

Should I split it into two meals?

Split the daily amount across two meals, morning and evening. Small breeds often do better with it spread across three.

This food is for adult dogs. Puppies need a food formulated for growth, so feed them one until they're fully grown.

How do I know if I've got it right?

Watch your dog rather than the chart. You want to be able to feel their ribs without pressing hard, and see a waist from above. Adjust up or down by 10% at a time and give it a fortnight before judging.

Age, breed, whether they're desexed, and how cold it is all shift the number up or down from the table.

Working out which bag to buy

A 10kg dog on 150g a day gets through about 4.5kg a month. You can save 20% on a subscription and set the delivery interval to match, so the next bag arrives before the current one is empty.
