The price per kilo drops at two points. Moving from 4kg to 6kg takes a fifth off every meal, and moving from 8kg to 12kg takes off almost another quarter. Either side of those steps the price per kilo barely moves: 2kg and 4kg are the same, and so are 12kg and 24kg.
So should I just buy the biggest one?
Only if your dog will get through it in a few months. A 24kg bag suits a large dog, a multi-dog household, or anyone happy to decant into an airtight container. A 5kg dog would take well over a year, which is longer than the food keeps well once opened.
